Public-review draft

Common Ground Standard

A practical way to ask what AI systems consume, change, protect, and return before public-benefit claims are accepted.

Choose a subject you know, test one claim against real experience, and leave one focused contribution. No GitHub account is required.

Public review only. This is not a certification, endorsement, petition, partnership request, or claim of adoption.

How public review works

One grounded critique can improve the draft.

The site is organized around a simple contribution flow, not a requirement to read every document.

  1. 01

    Choose

Start with one subject or one concern you understand.

  2. 02

    Pressure-test

Ask what could fail, who is affected, and what proof is missing.

  3. 03

    Answer

Submit one specific revision, safeguard, evidence threshold, or no-go condition.

  4. 04

    Revise

Feedback is reviewed against the public source record and used to improve later drafts.

Why this work exists

Responsible AI should be visible in the rules, the evidence, and the result.

AI decisions increasingly shape learning, work, public services, infrastructure, and local resources. Broad promises are not enough when the costs and benefits fall unevenly.

Common Ground Standard is being developed as a shared public-review framework for asking better questions before systems scale: What changes? Who decides? What must be protected? What evidence remains public? What value returns to affected people?

Review is not endorsement.

Reading, commenting, funding, or participating in review does not imply certification, partnership, adoption, membership, or approval of Common Ground Standard, its steward, or any organization referenced in the drafts.
